Wel­co­me to Le­se­start!

"Lesestart 1–2–3" is a nationwide program for early language development and reading promotion. In three consecutive years, parents will receive free-of-charge Lesestart sets for their children at the age of one, two and three years.

Please use our Lesestart Finder  to look up libraries and pediatricians participating in Lesestart.

All Lesestart sets include:

• a small cloth bag
• a picture book for reading aloud together
• practical tips for parents on reading aloud with the family

Our practical everyday tips for parents are available in 17 languages.

"Lesestart 1-2-3" is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and implemented by the Reading Foundation.
